Pearl Electric was officially incorporated on August 1998, but our story began long before that.
1958
Our company was established in Panyu, Guangzhou. The company originated from an electrical machinery factory.
1960
The company began producing oil-immersed induction power transformers.
1978
The first 20MVA, 110kV powertransformer wascommissioned at Lingshan Substation.
1993
The company has been listed among the "Top 500 Largest Electrical Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers in China".
1998
The company restructured and established as "Guangzhou Panyu Pearl Electric Appliance Co., Ltd."
2000
The first 40MVA 110kV high-reliability power transformer has passed national-level appraisal.
2002
Establishment of corporate postdoctoral research work station.
2006
Complete corporate restructuring and strive to build a competitive, value-creating company in the power transmission and transformation sector.
2009
Pearl Electric Co., Ltd. was officially established.
2011
The first halogen-free flame-retardant dry-type transformer passed all tests conducted by the National Transformer Quality Supervision and Inspection Center on its first attempt.
2012
Pearl Electric was recognized as a "High-tech Enterprise".
2013
The company has appointed Academician Lu Qiang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as its chief technology development strategy advisor and Academician Zhu Yinghao of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as its chief technology advisor.
2013
The SC(H)BH16-2500/10-NX1 Amorphous Alloy Transformer has become China’s first transformer with the largest capacity and that meets the Class 1 energy efficiency requirements.
March 2015
The CAP1400 main pump frequency converter with Water-cooled Phase-shifting Transformer has passed national-level appraisal.
June 2015
The ACP1000 Nuclear power plant safety-grade dry-type transformer has passed national-level certification.
October 2015
The company has officially renamed as “Pearl Electric Co., Ltd.”
November 2015
The Dry-type traction rectifier transformer for urban rail transit has passed the national-level appraisal.
2016
Pearl Electric won the “National Machinery Industry Quality Award”
2017
Pearl Electric became the first manufacturer in the transformer industry to obtain a license for the design and manufacture of civilian nuclear safety equipment.
2021
Pearl Electric won the bid for traction transformer products for 6 Guangzhou Metro lines, marking a major breakthrough in the rail transit market.
2022
Pearl Electric has successfully completed the production and manufacturing of the world’s largest Onshore tower dry-type transformer and China’s largest capacity Offshore wind turbine nacelle dry-type transformer.
January 2023
Pearl Electric has been recognized as a specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprise in Guangdong Province.
November 2023
Pearl Electric officially acquired China Shipbuilding Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd.
May 2024
The company has relocated from No. 118 Donghuan Road, Donghuan Street, Panyu District to its new factory at No. 220 Tanxin Highway, Dagang Town, Nansha District.
June 2024
The company’s dry-type transformers and amorphous alloy dry-type transformers have been included in the “National Recommended Catalogue of Energy-Saving and Carbon-Reducing Technologies and Equipment in the Industrial and Information Technology Field”.
September 2024
The company was recognized as a provincial-level manufacturing single champion enterprise in Guangdong Province for its “dry-type transformers for nuclear power plants”.
